Review October–December 2025: WhatsApp leads German Android at 82% reach, narrowly ahead of Chrome

Three apps reach roughly eight in ten German smartphone users: WhatsApp (82%), Google Chrome (82%) and the Google app (81%). Instagram, Facebook and TikTok form a second tier between 60–65%, with TikTok closing to within 4 percentage points of Facebook. The reach gap at the top has narrowed to fractions of a percentage point, making engagement metrics — not reach — the true differentiator among market leaders.
